Is this visa for me?

You may be able to get this visa if:

  1. You are on a temporary visa (like a Student visa or Temporary Skill Shortage visa) with work rights;
  2. Your visa expired recently (less than 28 days ago); or
  3. You have been exploited at work.
What is “exploitation”?

To get this visa, you must have a serious problem at work (“workplace exploitation matter”). This includes:

  • Underpayment: Not being paid properly, or not paid at all.
  • Unsafe work: Being forced to work in dangerous conditions.
  • Threats: Your boss threatened to cancel your visa or hurt you.
  • Bad treatment: Bullying, sexual harassment, or discrimination.
  • Forced payments: Your boss made you pay money to get the job or keep the job.
How to apply (we can help)

You cannot apply for this visa alone. You need an official group to “certify” (confirm) that you have been exploited.

SA Unions (who power this service) is an authorised certifying organisation. We can do this for you.
